School Program(We can also use the
program at apartment communities)We encourage you to get involved with your schools and recommend that they teach values/ character development with an emphasis on reinforcement. We would like to facilitate your mission in the schools by suggesting a simple program which will not take much classroom time and will ultimately assist with management of the classroom as children start to live their values everyday!!! Contact us, and we will be happy to talk to the administration about the program. Faculty can use the same values that you have chosen or chose others that are appropriate for individual campuses or grade levels. The key to the program is acceptance and role modeling by the administration, faculty and staff. The kids will be eager to accept the values and boundaries as long as everyone in the school is committed and living/modeling the same values. Here is the simple program:
-
Each morning either sing a song or repeat a creed or poem which contains the values that have been selected. We are partial to a song and have one to share with you because we believe singing puts kids into the right frame of mind. You could have a contest to develop several songs, creeds or poems to add variety.
-
Tape the values to the desk of each student and send a copy home to be taped to their refrigerator or bathroom mirror. Organize a meeting for parents to explain the
program. We will be happy to participate in the meeting. -
Put our slogan on the back of your school tee shirts with the values listed. Visual reinforcement is a powerful tool. We will help you financially with the tee shirts if your school is unable to afford them or need help to reduce the cost. We will also send you
bracelets for the kids to wear. -
Put banners and other reminders around the school to further reinforce the message. We will be happy to assist with these materials if you need financial assistance.
-
Read your students books about the values you have chosen or, if they are reading, have these books as required reading material for them. Have classroom discussions to explore the topics and teach the values. We can provide financial assistance to help with these resources if you need help.
-
Teachers, staff and administration should model the behavior and use the values as coaching/mentoring points when unacceptable behavior is observed.
-
Remind the students that
